FIVE STARS FOR TRACY WOLFF'S RUINED
Just in case you missed it, I really enjoyed this book. I've read all the Fifty Shades references, good and bad. But I honestly think you do a great disservice by comparing the two so blatantly. Both books stand alone and should be rated as such. And I loved Christian Grey and all his tortured ways but I've got a new book boyfriend and his name is Ethan Frost. Just the name itself oozes sex appeal and cool. Very James Bondish. He's tall, handsome, wealthy and he surfs- SO very perfect for this California girl.
Chloe Girard, the star of our wonderful series. Chloe's 22 years old and beautiful. She has just started an amazing internship at Frost Industries which puts her in the right path on her way to law school. On the surface, everything looks bright and cheery for this young and eager student, right?
Eh, WRONG!!!
She's got secrets. She's got issues. She's got a serious case of wtf when it comes to mining the crises in her life. What can I say? The lady has some crap luck when it comes to trusting the right people. So can you really blame her when she tries to pull away and keep Ethan Frost at a distance? She's had a lot thrown her way in the past and she's terrified of letting any sense of control go - the kind of control you need to relinquish when you find yourself suddenly falling for someone. But that pull is too great. It's too consuming and soon enough, Chloe can't deny her feelings and her desires for a man who has quickly and quite firmly stationed himself in her life.
"And yet there's something familiar about him. And also something that intrigues me. That makes me want to yield to him when I don't normally yield to anyone."
My main issue with this book was it was too damn short. There's a lot happening around and within Chloe and Ethan. There is so much more to discover, I have a feeling that Tracy Wolff has barely shown us - barely scratched the surface of what truly makes these two lost souls tick. As everything slowly unraveled, we're left to wonder what will happen to this beaten-down couple and if they'll ever reach the kind of peace they seem only to find in each other's arms.
"...I look up- straight into Ethan's dark and tormented eyes. And I know that whatever secrets he's keeping are going to tear me apart."So, yeah - that was the last freaking line! And so now I wait and if you only knew how so very bad I am at waiting. I've grown accustomed to the DVR, fast forwarding to the good part- internet and spoilers. I can't wait much longer and I guess that's a testament to the successful endeavor of Tracy Wolff's new Ethan Frost series. I'm not happy but I'll keep waiting for the next one to drop into Amazon.
